AIDS Walk New York 2008

What is AIDS Walk New York?:

AIDS Walk New York is an annual fundraising walk sponsored by the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC). 2008 marks the 23rd year of AIDS Walk New York, which has raised almost $100 million for AIDS charities nationwide (more than $6.8 million in 2007 alone). Thousands of New Yorkers and out-of-towners walk to raise money to help people with HIV and AIDS.

The 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) walk begins and ends in Central Park and will feature celebrity guests including Sara Ramirez, Bruce Vilanch, Wilson Cruz, and other stars to be announced.

Why Should You Help?:

Walk with your friends, family and co-workers to raise urgently needed funds and send the message that the AIDS crisis is not over. AIDS remains a serious public health issue and your help is needed.

As of June 2004, more than 92,000 New Yorkers were living with HIV or AIDS -- more than any other city in the country.

How Can You Get Involved?:

Sponsor A Walker: Pledge money to support a friend, co-worker or loved one who is walking for the cause.
Make A Donation: Make a donation online and become a bronze, silver, gold or platinum sponsor.
